If you find these questions interesting, scroll down to find out more about our research project
In a world grappling with the intricacies of capitalism, a critical question arises: is it possible for a business to be ethical? More particularly, can a business be feminist? How is feminism practiced within a business? What exactly do these businesses consider is feminist about their projects? Are they businesses at all? But what is a business? These are just a few of the queries driving our exploration.
We are a scientific research project.
We use the word “business” for the sake of simplicity, but we explore any type of economic activity that creates revenue. The alternative terms we use internally in our research team is “economic practices” or “economic projects”.
What is a feminist business?
Usually, when we talk about our research, the first question we get asked is: but what is a “feminist business”? You’d be surprised at how diverse feminist businesses are. They come in different shapes and sizes, and are in a broad range of industries! Sex toys, translation, underwear, education, art, fashion, book stores, coffees, services, beauty, magazines, podcasts, and more. We’re sharing some examples with you here.
